Indiana, Switzerland County, Patriot
river mile 519

This pretty little park is located on a stub of road just riverside of the T intersection that defines downtown Patriot, where SR 250 comes down the bluff and intersects SR 156, the road that follows the river. The one story brick building that constitutes the Town Hall is right next door. It’s the perfect park for this kind of place: several benches facing the river, a grill, and a picnic shelter with a couple of picnic tables at the top of the low bluff; a pier and dock below. Though there may be a couple of shops in Patriot, the gentleman with the hostile yard sign who lives right next to the river probably wouldn’t appreciate the presence of people who tried to bike or kayak camp on the sliver of lawn that constitutes the park’s green space.
