What a beautiful place! The campground is right on the Ohio River, right at the level of the Ohio River, and there are decks with generous benches that take you right out over the river. The campground is excellent, with both electric and tent sites, water, flush toilets, and showers. Bike and kayak campers would find this an excellent place to stay, the only consideration being, for kayak campers, that it is distant from any town. There’s also a handicap accessible modern playground, and a volleyball net. The only thing that’s lacking is information about the Ohio River (but go next door to the Frontier Boat Launch). There are massive canopy trees overhead, and shady grass underneath so, in the middle of the summer the research team was enthralled by the cool greenness. It’s a luxurious place and we wish we were camping here! Thank you, Forest Service, for creating such a wonderful place!
