Ohio, Monroe County, Fly
river mile: 138

It is amazing to find out who runs beautiful parks along the Ohio River! This one, for example, is entirely unexpected. It is run by the Ohio Department of Transportation, and it is a rest area. Parking lot, vault toilet, a notice board, a couple of drivers sleeping in their trucks. Yet, it is a rest area along the Ohio River — thus counting as a park — and a beautiful park it is. Located on a low bluff, it offers a lovely organized landscape with benches facing the river, a picnic shelter, grills, a spigot, and a drinking fountain. Kayak campers might have difficulty getting up to the park, but it would be a wonderful place for bike campers. Thank you, ODOT, for creating this beautiful unexpected place!
